Snorkel Splash
Snorkel Splash

What beach would you reccommend in Cozumel?
We are going on a cruise to Cozumel in December and we are wanting to lay around on a beach for part of the day.
We would like one that is nice and sandy-
easy to get in the water and splash around.
and with-in a cab's ride distance to the cruise pier (not sure where we will be docking yet)
-Not necessary but if they also had snorkeling that would be wonderful.
I have been trying to research them on the internet, but I was wondering if anyone can give me answers from experience. We don't mind paying a small fee, but not too big because we also want to do a little shopping while we are there.
We will be in Cozumel from 10:00 am- 7:00 pm
THANKS
I have been to Cozumel four times on a cruise ship. As far as beaches for a $10 cab ride you can go to an area where there are several beaches next to each other. They are Palm Beach, San Francisco Beach, and Paradise Beach. All are very nice. See a map http://cozumelmexico.net/Cozumel-Beaches.html
My favorite thing to do in Cozumel is to snorkel. Go to the Downtown Pier-you may be able to walk depending on where your ship docks. There are snorkel trips leaving from there on a frequent basis. I was there in June and went a 2.5 hour snorkel trip for $20. It was great.

Cheap underwater housing for DSLR's- advice please!?
Hey! I'm a student photographer and am about to go to Barbados on holiday- I would love to be able to take my Canon dslr into the pool/sea (snorkeling), but proper housing units cost thousands of pounds and I'm already about to splash out on a new camera (40/50D).
I was wondering if anyone has used their DSLR underwater with a cheap housing compromise (DicaPac SLR Waterproof Case for example) and if it's safe/any good!
any recomendations or feedback on housing units under £100/$200 would be really helpful!
(I currently use a Canon 350D which, after buying the 40 or 50D, I wont mind trying underwater- the lenses I use are 18-55mm, 18-200mm and 50mm 1.8, and not being able to zoom underwater doesnt bother me too much!)
thanks!
I think you'd be better off getting a cheap, disposable underwater camera rather than taking chances on a cheap housing. There are even some non-disposable underwater cameras for under $100.
