SCUBA ?: What is the official depth of a "deep dive"?

I am a certified PADI Open Water Diver, and hoping to get recertified as an advanced open water diver soon. You have to make a certain amount of dives, and one of the required is a deep dive. I was wondering if anyone knew the official depth of a deep dive? THANKS!

Your deep dive part of the AOW will be to around 110-120 feet, as a rule, depending on location. You'll be given some mental tasks to do, like writing your name backwards or some math. I disagree with the previous poster in that anything over 60 is a deep dive. PADI defines it as 18 M to 40 M but it's It's all relative to your current training and the agency you cert with. IANTD techies START at that depth. I believe he's thinking about how deep you are certified to, not what is considered a deep dive For example, myself. 130 feet is not a deep dive, it's deeper than recreational scuba, but not deep as a tech diver It's all relative.
Amongst most recreational divers AOW, you'll find their definition of deep to be in the 100-130 foot range. For OW a deep dive is anytime they get their feet wet.
